Dawn is a dedicated oral surgery professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Her passion for oral surgery has been the driving force throughout her career. Dawn has held a variety of roles, including scheduling appointments, assisting with surgeries, and coordinating procedures like implants, orthognathic surgeries, and surgeries for cancer patients. In addition, she is responsible for organizing the schedules of the staff and assisting with the coordination of the practice's logistics. She has experience working in both hospital and clinic settings and finds all aspects of the practice enjoyable. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family on their farm, going to concerts, and exploring new places through travel.
With an impressive career spanning over 20 years, Dawn (JD) has gained experience in various areas of dentistry. The majority of her years have been devoted to oral surgery. She has worked in both clinic and hospital settings. She possesses extensive knowledge in every aspect of the practice and consistently seeks opportunities to enhance it. Not only is she trained as a surgical assistant, but she is also Dr. Haas’ treatment coordinator. Patients can rely on her as the primary point of contact to facilitate the care process. During her free time, she finds solace in relaxation, connecting with nature, and sharing moments with her husband and dogs.
With a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy, Alyssa is your go-to professional for all things medical/dental coding and billing. Throughout the last six years, she has amassed a great deal of experience and has developed a high level of expertise in managing insurance claims, ensuring coding accuracy, and handling billing procedures. Alyssa is passionate about optimizing reimbursement processes, allowing our providers to focus on providing excellent care to our patients. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, hiking, and fishing with her husband Brandon, and their adorable puppy, Millie!
Despite being relatively new to surgical assisting, Maddy displays impressive competence and skill. Maddy's passion lies in learning about procedures and instrumentation. She possesses a dedicated work ethic that promotes efficiency, and her vibrant personality creates a welcoming atmosphere for both patients and staff members in the office. Away from the office, Maddy is a social butterfly who loves to interact with people from all walks of life. She finds solace in outdoor spaces, regardless of the activity. Interestingly, whether requested or not, she has a knack for organizing just about anything.
Before joining the Prairie Oral Surgery team in January 2022, Haley had 10 years of experience in general dentistry. Her primary responsibilities include managing accounts receivable, scheduling appointments, and communicating with insurance companies to resolve claims and file appeals when necessary. Haley takes pleasure in the variety of her job, which includes ensuring that patients have a comfortable and positive experience at Prairie Oral Surgery. Haley enjoys cooking during her leisure time. She takes pleasure in experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with her loved ones. Additionally, she loves camping with her husband, Chuck, and their son, Eli. They recently acquired a camper and have been having an enjoyable time exploring new places.>
Amanda is a healthcare professional with more than 12 years of experience. She brings extensive knowledge to the practice, which helps her provide patients with effective and excellent care. Amanda goes the extra mile to ensure that every patient visit is enjoyable. During her free time, Amanda enjoys spending quality moments with her spouse and two kids, engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and running the Fargo ½ Marathon annually. A fascinating tidbit about her is that she selflessly donated her bone marrow to a stranger in need of it to save their life.
Treatment Coordinator
As a registered dental hygienist, Trinity has over 14 years of experience in both general dentistry and oral surgery. Knowing both specialties is truly an advantage. Her organizational skills are impeccable, as Dr. Smart’s treatment coordinator. She guides patients regarding the expectations and management of their healthcare. When she is not at work, she enjoys the sunshine at the lake.
We have Chelsea as a valuable member of our surgical assistant team. She has more than 9 years of experience in General Dentistry, making her a knowledgeable asset to our practice. Chelsea keeps herself informed about the latest advancements in dental equipment and materials. She ensures that patients receive all the essential details, and her compassionate approach provides comfort during procedures. Chelsea greets everyone with a welcoming smile and is always ready to assist. During her free time, Chelsea can be found exercising at the gym, riding her bike, or taking care of her three cats at home. Here's an interesting fact - she happens to be the older sister of our nurse, Alexa!
With more than 8 years of experience in oral surgery, Angie has worked in both hospital and private practice settings. Angie is excellent at managing referrals and developing a well-defined and effective workflow. She has a calming demeanor when talking to patients before they visit our practice, assuring them that their experience at Prairie Oral Surgery will be a positive one. Her infectious laughter brings smiles to everyone she meets. Away from the office, she loves spending time by the lake with her furry companion, Floki. Additionally, she finds comfort in lounging on the Lily Pad with no specific activity in mind.
We have the pleasure of having Amanda on our team as a part-time registered nurse. She is highly skilled and has extensive experience in various specialties. She collaborates closely with doctors in the operating room to provide patients with the exceptional care they deserve. Amanda's expertise and calming demeanor ensure that patients receive top-notch care and have a positive experience. During her leisure time, she cherishes outdoor moments and lake outings with her family.
With over 14 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Kelly is dedicated to helping others. She ensures that patients and their families receive proper care, whether she's scheduling at the front desk or tending to patients in the recovery room. She has a cheerful demeanor that puts anyone who meets her at ease. During her free time, she loves to travel, hang out with loved ones, and participate in breast cancer fundraising events.
Geneviv possesses expertise in the fields of general dentistry and oral surgery. She provides daily assistance to both Dr. Haas and Dr. Smart. In addition, she oversees the inventory of dental implant and bone graft materials. Gen's forward-thinking abilities make her an invaluable asset in this position. She is extremely precise and pays great attention to detail. Gen loves to spend her spare time with her husband and their pet Corgi, Yogi. She has a great talent in calligraphy and photography and often embarks on exciting outdoor expeditions.

With over 13 years of experience in patient management, she'll guide you through the process of becoming a patient. Kelsie collaborates with the scheduling coordinator to manage referrals and book patient appointments. In her spare time, she likes to go for a run, indulge in some shopping, and spend quality time with her husband Eric, as well as their two children Addley and Camden. They also have two dogs named Cooper and Charlie who are part of their family.
Alexa is a highly skilled and compassionate registered nurse who plays a crucial role in the success of surgeries. She not only assists with surgeries in the office but also coordinates surgeries in hospitals for doctors. Her exceptional attention to detail and caring nature towards patients make her an invaluable asset to the team. Did you know that Alexa was born with six extra teeth and had to undergo her first oral surgery when she was in preschool? She loves to travel and explore breweries and cideries while on the road.
Harlee, a recent graduate, has a strong passion for oral surgery. She possesses a bright personality, a beaming smile, and a great ambition to learn. During her internship, it was evident that she would seamlessly integrate into our team. During her leisure time, she likes to spend weekends by the lake, work part-time at CycleBar, take walks, and indulge in online shopping.
Dental Insurance Specialist
With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Prairie Oral Surgery. She has a deep understanding of healthcare coding, billing, and insurance processes. Currently, Sara is continuing her educational journey, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree while on the pathway to obtaining a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. During her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her daughter and their dog Major.
Although this is Sam’s first clinical role, he’s no stranger to the medical and surgical world—he serves as a Combat Medic in the Army Reserves, where he continues to develop his skills and commitment to patient care. His calm demeanor, patience, and understanding are often just the right remedy to help both our patients and team feel at ease. In his downtime, Sam enjoys reading and writing, and he has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the world around him. A fan of life’s simpler pleasures, he may come across as quiet at first—but when it comes to advocating for the care our patients receive, Sam is always ready to speak up.
