Dr. CORBETT HAAS, D.D.S., M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Haas moved to Fargo in July 2018 after completing his residency training in Boston, MA. He is originally from Anchorage, Alaska, where he developed a love for hiking, salmon fishing, and skiing, as well as fanaticism for all Boston sports, starting with the Red Sox at age 5 (his childhood Boston Terrier was named Nomar!). Following completion of his undergraduate training at the University of Alaska Anchorage, he moved to Seattle, WA, where he attended dental school at The University of Washington. After this, he completed a 1-year preliminary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
During this grueling year, Dr. Haas was formally accepted into the program and completed his residency training at the combined MGH/Harvard Medical School Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program. As part of this unique and comprehensive training, he received his Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School in May 2015. He also completed 2 years of accredited general surgery and 5 months of general anesthesia training all at “The MGH”. Fun fact: in 1868, the first public demonstration of general anesthesia was performed at the MGH surgical amphitheater, now known as The Ether Dome. His oral surgical training was complete with an emphasis on corrective jaw surgery, trauma, dentoalveolar procedures, dental implants, and safe and effective anesthesia. He is proud to bring what he has learned to Fargo, where he continues to stay current and educated by continuing his education and community involvement. He is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
In his free time, Dr. Haas enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their three kids, Isabel, Peter, and Franklin, all of whom are under the age of 10. He has also developed a painful obsession with golf, which can often be found in the woods of the Fargo/Moorhead golf courses, searching for his lost golf balls.

RYAN SMART, D.M.D., M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Ryan Smart is a distinguished Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. With a career spanning over a decade, Dr. Smart has dedicated himself to advancing the field through clinical excellence, academic contributions, and compassionate patient care. Dr. Smart’s educational journey is a testament to his commitment to academic rigor and clinical expertise. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School and his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D., summa cum laude) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. His undergraduate studies were completed at Carroll College, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. His postgraduate training is equally impressive, with fellowships and residencies at esteemed institutions such as Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. His focus has been on Head/Neck Oncology & Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery, General Surgery, and Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery.
Currently, Dr. Smart serves as the Owner and Partner at Prairie Oral & Facial Surgery in Fargo, ND. Prior to this, he was a Staff Oral & Maxillofacial/Head & Neck Surgeon at Essentia Health and High Desert Oral & Facial Surgery. His experience also includes roles in public health at the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
Dr. Smart holds an Assistant Clinical Professorship at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, sharing his insights on a range of topics from intimate partner violence to anesthesiology.
He has an extensive list of publications and presentations, contributing to journals and speaking at conferences on topics ranging from Head and Neck Reconstructive Surgery to Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.
Among his many accolades, Dr. Smart has been a recipient and nominee for the “Golden Stethoscope” recognition for clinical care. He has also received numerous academic honors, including the Dr. Frank Susi Endowed Prize Fund for Excellence in Research and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. A highlight in his list of honors is serving as an Honorary Torch Bearer in the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Dr. Smart is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He holds unrestricted medical and dental licensures in Texas and North Dakota.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Smart is a devoted family man. He is married to Kim, and together they are the proud parents of two children, William and Ingrid. Dr. Smart cherishes the time spent with his family and is an active participant in his children’s lives, whether it’s watching William play soccer and practice Tae Kwon Do or cheering for Ingrid at her dance and gymnastics events. His personal hobbies are a reflection of his diverse interests and talents; he enjoys playing the piano, composing music, and practicing martial arts. These activities not only enrich his life but also bring a sense of balance and fulfillment.
