Are you a candidate for All-on-X treatment at Fargo? This solution is ideal for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Missing most or all teeth in one or both arches
- Struggling with uncomfortable or loose-fitting dentures
- Looking for a permanent and stable tooth replacement option
- Have sufficient jawbone density to support implants (for those with bone loss, additional procedures like bone grafting may be required)
- Wanting a natural-looking smile and improved chewing functionality
If you’re unsure whether this treatment suits you, our Prairie Oral Surgery team offers personalized consultations to evaluate your needs and recommend the best path forward.
The Process of All-on-X Treatment
The process can vary depending on your treatment needs. Very commonly, teeth are removed, implants are placed and a temporary prosthetic is placed on the same day as implant placement.
Step 1: Consultation
Your first step is a consultation with Dr. Haas or Dr. Smart. We’ll discuss your dental history, goals, and concerns during this visit. Our digital X-rays and Trios intraoral scanner provide a detailed overview of your oral structure, enabling us to develop a customized treatment plan.
Step 2: Preparation
Any remaining damaged teeth will be removed before we place the implants. Advanced planning tools like photogrammetry (which guides routine surgeries for dental implants) ensure precision at every step.
Step 3: Implant Placement
The All-on-X procedure involves placing four (sometimes six) titanium implants into the jawbone. These act as a secure foundation for your new set of teeth. Thanks to our expert care and modern techniques, most patients are surprised at how comfortable the procedure is.
Step 4: Recovery
Following recovery and implant integration, the temporary prosthetic is exchanged for a more permanent solution by your general dentist. One that can be chewed with (we ask for a no chew diet with the temporary prosthetic). This is the most natural option available to replace a full arch of teeth.
Aftercare for All-on-X Treatment
Proper aftercare is crucial to ensure the success of your All-on-X implants. Here’s what you need to do post-procedure:
- Practice Excellent Oral Hygiene: Brush and floss daily, focusing on cleaning around the implants to prevent plaque buildup and maintain gum health.
- Follow a Healing-Friendly Diet: For the first few weeks, stick to soft foods, avoiding hard or sticky items that could disrupt the implants during the healing phase.
- Attend Regular Check-ups: Scheduling routine visits to Prairie Oral Surgery allows us to monitor your implants and ensure long-term success.
- Reach Out if Needed: Do you have a question or concern? Our team is always available to provide advice or assistance.
We offer amenities like heated blankets, bottled water, and even Disney+ or Hulu streaming for entertainment during follow-up visits to make your recovery more comfortable. Your comfort and well-being are our priority.
